APPLICATIONS
– Central reserve
– Terminals between structures
– Ability to affix street furniture such as signs, gantry supports, lighting columns
A widened version of the standard BBS CB profile is available which provides a smaller footprint than dual barrier and can act as a foundation for street furniture based on specific anchor designs. BBS CB-W is a slipformed barrier 900mm above road level with an overall base width of 942mm (top width is 600mm).
Location of the central reserve cables and services is a key consideration for BBS CB construction, as existing cable routes are often affected by the barrier restraint and foundation detail. The BBS CB-TW (Trough Wide) profile is a wide concrete barrier profile providing a 600 mm wide platform for mounting lighting columns and formed with an integral cable trough. The cable duct can be laid in the trough, which can then be infilled, with access covers provided where needed. The required anchorage system will be project specific and dependent on the type of column and lamp used. BBS’s preferred Supplier of lighting mast anchorage systems is Fixing Centre Limited.
