Steel Barrier, SB, from BBS Barriers forms part of the Highway Barrier system offering. When concrete barrier cannot be used, for example on bridges, then SB could be an option. The range also comprises auxiliary products to complete the Highway Barrier offering.
Standard and Wide SB
The Standard and Wide steel product is primarily for use on bridges where the foundation requirement for CB cannot be met. The Steel Barrier is anchored onto the bridge deck (for more details please refer to the relevant datasheet).
Emergency Crossing Points (ECP)
A demountable version of the SB is used at Emergency Crossing Points. Typically the sections are of 3 or 4 panels and are for use within Concrete Barrier to allow quick and easy access to the other motorway carriageway for emergency vehicles or maintenance access. The ECPs can be moved easily and quickly by hand by a two-man team equipped with hand tools with opening of the ECP typically taking less than 30 minutes and reinstatement of the units also taking under 30 minutes. Retractable wheels are accessed via a hatch in the unit.
